About the Society

The inaugural meeting of the Hat Pin Society of Great Britain was held on 25th October 1980 when our founder Chairman, Margaret Norton, welcomed 22 original members to the Norton Museum, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. In November of the same year Margaret attended an auction at Phillips, New Bond Street and issued a general invitation to the buyers to join the newly formed Society.

From these small beginnings the Society has grown and now attracts members not only from this country but from all over the world.

Meetings

Twice yearly meetings are held at places of interest up and down the U.K so that as many Members as possible can attend, meet up, become friends and enjoy themselves.

The meetings feature speakers on subjects that are of great interest to the Members, enabling them to widen their knowledge and benefit from the expertise of other fellow members about this absorbing hobby that grips us all. At these meetings, dealers and Members offer pins, stands and holders for sale.
